Post 129 Helping Hands
One of the greatest strengths of American Legion Post 129 has always been our willingness to help one another.
From time to time we learn of members, veterans, or their families who could use a helping hand. Sometimes it's a ride to a doctor's appointment, a meal after surgery, someone to sit with an older veteran while a caregiver takes a much-needed break, help running errands, or another simple act of kindness.
We would like to create a Post 129 Helping Hands email list.
There is no ongoing commitment and no obligation to volunteer every time a request is sent. When a need arises, we'll send an email describing the situation and what help is needed. If you're available and would like to help, you can simply reply and we'll coordinate from there.
Some examples of needs might include:
Transportation to medical appointments
Delivering a meal
Friendly visits or sitting with a veteran while a caregiver gets a break
Grocery shopping or errands
Small household tasks
Other opportunities to support members of our Post family
