Updates from Kelly
December 2016 - Update
Kelly will be coming back to work a few shifts a week during her radiation treatments. She is scheduled to have radiation every day for five weeks. After treatment is over and she has healed she will go in for her reconstructive surgery. She will be out of work at that time for approximately two months as she recovers.
Please be patient during this time as we are unsure as to how treatment will effect her.

Dear Legion Family,
Words cannot express how grateful I am for the love and kindness you have shown me, more about that later. I am feeling quite good these days. I am keeping busy with a big 1500 piece, pain in the ass puzzle. I’m learning how to whittle and most importantly, I’m relaxing. If you want to email me my email address is tranzcribbler@gmail.com
I haven’t gotten my pathology results yet. I’ll know about further treatments when they come back. The VA pathology department is known to take 1 to 2 weeks. I have a feeling it will be great news.
I love all of you so much! The love that we share in this building is out of this world! I’m so proud to be a part of this family. I’ll write again when I get my results!
All My Love,
Kelly Rice

Hello Legion Family,
I hope everyone is enjoying the fall weather as much as I am. I enjoyed seeing a lot of our members at the Post following the air show this past Saturday. It was an emotional time for me, seeing the family that has done so much for me. Anyone reading this letter is part of my Legion Family, so thank you.
I have gotten my pathology results. Due to the size of the mass in my left breast, the grade, my age, and the margin (or lack thereof), upon removal of the breasts, the oncologists and surgeons made a recommendation of radiation. There are a lot of questions that can't be easily answered when it comes to this sort of thing. I'm doing my best to stay informed and am more than happy to answer any questions that people have for me. I thought this would be an easy way to let everyone in on what's going on. I will be receiving radiation here at the beach, which is nice. I do not know how long I'll be receiving treatment just yet. I will definitely keep those that wish to be informed in the loop. On a very good note, along with my breasts, they took the sentinel lymph node on each side for biopsies. Those biopsies came back all clear. As for now, that is all the news I have. We're almost halfway done! Much love to all.

Benefit for Kelly Rice - Saturday, October 22nd
Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday for Kelly's benefit and everyone who volunteered and collected raffle prizes. It truly was an amazing event and would not have happened without everyone's support.
