City CONSTRUCTION
Update as of May 19th, 2019 from Brandi
It's been a long time coming but it has finally happened. The city has completed the road construction and we are able to drive through the parking lot again. On top of that we have extra parking available on 4th Street.
Now everyone has to get back into the habit of using the driveway as a one way again. Please use the entrance on the North side of the building only to enter the parking lot and exit only using the south end of the parking lot.
Thank you to everyone for continuing to support the Post during this past year I know that it was not always easy to find parking or get out of the lot and at times could be very frustrating. You could have chosen to make another place your home but you all continued to come and support our Post and our causes and for that we could not be more thankful.
Update as of March 26th, 2019 from Brandi
Whenever we talk to the guys who are working on the road construction and ask a question about when something will be completed or started the answer is always Tuesday. Well the magic Tuesday must have arrived because they have begun asphalting the road. There is even talk that 4th street will be open by Friday. Either way the good news is this is one step closer to getting our parking lot back open, the bad news is that they will be periodically closing down access to the Post from 11th coming from 9th. Third street access should not be affected during this process. We are excited that at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you all again for your patience and for sticking with us during this process we truly do appreciate you.
Update as of January 29th, 2019 from Brandi
The truth is there really is not much I can tell you since everything we are told ends up being false. They were suppose to be finished with our portion of the project by the end of January well here we are and it is still not complete. As you can tell if you have been down third street lately they are starting to cross 3rd street which I think is a good thing - at least it's progress. Hopefully soon they will be finished in our area.
Update as of October 30th, 2018 from Brandi
We heard today that within two weeks they should have the ditch filled in and additional parking should be available. After that their next step is to start crossing third street with the pipe - which I am sure will just add a level to the fun of our local commute to the Post. But every step forward is a step in the right direction.
Update as of October 16th, 2018 from Brandi
The city is still working on the streets surrounding the Post. Everyday it seems they like to see how creative we will all be in getting to our parking lot. I first wanted to say thank you to all of our members who continue to support our Post. I know that there are days when it would be easier go somewhere else but we truly appreciate the effort you all make to visit us. I would like to say that they will be finishing up soon but at this time that is not something that appears to be happening for a while. I will say that they are working - hopefully soon the ditch will be filled in and we will, at the very least, have some additional parking. You know what they say - no pain, no gain.
July 10th, 2018
The city has started their construction on the drainage project. This will effect our parking as they are working primary on 12th St. Currently the exit to our parking lot is still open but that will change as the project moves forward. We are working on bringing in valet on the busy evenings and some other solutions to keeping all of our members safe during this project.
We have secured a lease on the lots to the south of us to use as additional parking during this project. The big thing during this project is that everyone needs to be careful in the parking lot as many people are using only 11th St to exit and enter. Please use great caution while driving and walking the last thing we want to happen is an accident of any kind.

As I am sure you have noticed the back hall is coming together. We are getting excited and hope you are too.

As this is a new environment and hopefully with some new clientele we don't know what will work until we try it. So please know that we will be trying and altering until we find what works best for that room. Your suggestions are always welcome.
The kitchen will also be rolling out a new menu in time for the grand opening.Terry is working with the staff and you will be excited to see what they have to offer. As soon as we lock it down I will publish it so you all can get a sneak peek. In addition to the specials we will have a regular menu that will be offered during lunch and dinner.

Well things are truly starting to shape up in the back hall. The room has been painted, the new bar top has been installed, and the sprinkler system has been updated. The tables and chairs have all been delivered and will be put together with in the next two weeks. Overall the room is coming together nicely.
Update as of October 16th, 2018 from Brandi
This week you should start to see some noticeable changes. Home Depot is in house today starting on the painting and the new bar top will be installed on Wednesday. The team in general will be working on getting the little details together and I think everyone will be happy with the results. We still have a long road ahead but overall it is shaping up beautifully.
We have also started the new awning project this week. The old awning came down last week and the new concrete is being pour today. The awning it self will not be installed for another 4 to 6 weeks but at least we are moving forward. Once all of these projects are completed I know you all will be thrilled with the results and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding during the construction phases.
Update as of September 25th, 2018 from Brandi
The work continues on the back hall but is moving forward quickly The walls are up, ceiling is painted, plumbing is completed, electrical is 90% complete and tile is currently as I type this being installed. We met with the contractor today about the new bar top and are working on putting together the final details.
The room will be ready and open for the Octoberfest event on October 20th. We will most likely still have work to do after the event as in decor, closets, and other finishing details as well as some work in the new meeting room. We are taking our time on this project to make sure that everything is done properly.
Update as of July 26th, 2018 from Brandi
Remember the Post will be closed on Monday, July 30th and Tuesday, July 31st. We will reopen on Wednesday, August 1st.
Our kitchen however will be closed all week due to the construction. We will however be trying to at least give you something to munch on at least for dinner. So please come on in a grab something to eat and have a cocktail. No charge for any of the food on Wednesday or Thursday. On Wednesday we will have meatball subs and on Thursday we will have a taco/nacho bar. We are still working on the menu for Friday but I will keep you posted as soon as I have more details.
We know that with all of this construction, inside and out, that sometimes it can be inconvenient or easier to go somewhere else and we appreciate each and everyone one of you that continues to show your support to Post 129. It is because of members like you that we will continue to grow and come out stronger in the end.
