New Year's Eve Party - Thursday, December 31st
New Year’s Eve will be the same as it has been for a few years. Double Shot will be here to entertain us from 830 pm to 1230 am. There will NOT be a cover charge this year. It is a no fuss party.
There will be party favors and a champagne toast at midnight but other than that it is just come, party, drink, and dance! No dinner will be available that evening. We are requesting that if possible everyone brings in some snacks to share.

Braiden's Courage Benefit Ride - Saturday, December 19th
Post 129 is proud to be hosting the benefit ride for Braiden's Courage this Saturday, December 19th. Registration begins at 10 am, Kick Stands Up at 11 am.
What is Braiden's Courage? Braiden is a six year old boy who is going through the fight of his life. Braiden was a healthy, happy boy until he was brought to the hospital complaining of stomach pains. What should have been a routine visit to the ER wound up with a terrifying discovery. He is very sick and needs your help.
We are raising money to ease the tremendous cost that will go along with the treatment of his fight.

Children's Christmas Party - Sunday, December 13th
Our children's Christmas party will be held on Sunday, December 13th starting at 10 am. There will be arts and crafts, treats, face painting and of course a special visit from Santa! If you are planning on bring your kids or grand kids please sign them up as soon as possible in the main canteen area. Santa needs time to prepare for the party!
The department Commander's 5th district welcome Dinner - Saturday, December 5th
You are invited to join us on Saturday, December 5th for the Commander's welcome dinner. The event will be held at Post 129 in the event hall. Cocktail hour will begin at 6 pm, dinner at 7 pm. Live Band for entertainment.
Tickets cost $25 per person and include dinner and dancing! Menu choice of Roast Beef or Baked Chicken. Tickets can be purchased by credit card below or by check. Please make checks payable to American Legion Post 129, please be sure to indicate your meal choice while making your reservations.

Early Bird Dinner - Sunday, November 15th

Shuffleboard Tournament - Tuesday, November 10th
The shuffleboard table has been redone! Special thanks go out to Snakebite, Duff, Jim, and JD for all of their hard work!
Now that we have a new table we are going to begin running shuffleboard tournaments every Tuesday starting on Tuesday, November 10th. Registration will begin at 530 pm with the tournament beginning at 630 pm.
This will be a double elimination tournament with a blind draw for partners. For additional details please see Brandi or Kelly.

Share the Warmth - Sunday, November 1st
Cold weather is here! The Auxiliary is asking for donations of cold weather clothing to be brought to the Post so that we can donate it to Mission House. Requested items are coats, jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, gloves, hats, and scarves. Please bring all donations to the Post by November 1st.

Croaker TOURNAMENT - October 10th & October 11th
We at Post 129 are proud to announce that the annual Croaker tournament is back! Thank you for considering fishing with us this year. As you are aware, this tournament is not only a lot of fun and an opportunity to see long time fishing friends, but it is also a fund raiser for the American Legion to send deserving young boys and girls to our Capital to learn how our government works. It is a very exciting addition to their education. The Croaker tournament is the major source of funds for this charity.
We are hoping to make this year's tournament the biggest and best ever. Please tell your neighbors and all of your fishing friends to please consider joining us in October.

ALR Roll the Dice Fun Run - October 3rd, 2015
The American Legion Riders, Chapter 129 in conjunction with the Home Depot Foundation and Beaches Habitat for Humanity will be hosting our 3rd Annual Fun Run.
We will be raising funds to supply materials and labor for a local beaches disabled veteran who is in need of increased functionality and repairs of his home. Miller’s Ale House will be providing food at the end of the run.

As a Post family we will observe a moment of silence together at 6 pm on Friday to honor those who died in the attacks on September 11th, 2001. We are also requesting that you take a moment at 846 am in observance of the first plane striking the North Tower.

Armada Game Outing - Sunday, June 7th
Did you hear that Jacksonville now has a soccer team? Well we do! We are planning a group event to check out a game on Sunday, June 7th. We will have a bus pick us up at Post 129 and take us down to the game so no one has to worry about driving in the city or parking. Plan on joining us this will be a trip you do not want to miss!

I Love My Post Clean Up - Saturday, May 16th
Post 129 has made some huge progress over the past years but just like your house there is always something that needs to be done. Because of that we will start having I love my Post clean up days on the third Saturday of each month starting with May 16th. This month we are looking for volunteers to come in and help us wipe down the walls and shelves within the main canteen area. We will be starting at 9 am and will be done no later then 11 am.

Women's Self Defense Course - Sunday, April 26th
Sunday, April 26th Post 129 will be holding a women's self defense class in the back hall. The class will cover safety tips as well as hands on training and last approximately three hours. Cost for this class is only $10! Please be sure to let all your female friends and family know that they are invited.

Join us on Saturday, March 7th as we jump into spring with the Northern Area Ball! All are invited to attend this wonderful evening of dinning and dancing. Mark your calendars and plan on joining us for our first Meatloaf cook off!!! There is no fee to enter, winners will be determined by a panel of judges. So start cooking and planning! This is going to be a great night of comfort food and you never know you could walk away with the title of best meatloaf at the Post and all the bragging rights to go with it!
